Rose Barni

Born as traditional nurserymen in 1882, the Barni’s gotspecialized in rose production and cultivation startingfrom the late Thirties, when sanctions against Italystopped the import of plants coming from the traditional production countries.
Obtained by a handmade grafting technique, all therose plants are grown in Tuscany, with all the typicalcares of who is deeply tied up with this land.
The used understocks have been selected and testedto suit every European climate, for their hardiness tocold temperatures and drought, for their strength andbecause they scarcely form suckers.
Along the years, their centenary experience, that hasbeen passed on from generation to generation, hasbeen enriched by a new innovating spirit to test everysolution that could improve the agronomical activity.
At the end of the Sixties, the company started its ownresearch of new rose cultivars, creating a more intense and accurate program of hybridation and selectionwhich gave as a result, the introduction of famous cultivars winner of prestigious awards in National and International Rose Competitions.
The traded cultivars, coming both from Barni’s ownresearch programs and from the world’s most famoushybridators, undergo a strict evaluation process underseveral seasons, to select the best qualities of beautyand hardiness.
